First - Make Sure You Have The Latest Version!!

Between "official releases", there are often unannounced fixes added to ProUpdater in response to bugs that have cropped up in the released version. To check whether you have the latest version, look at the 5-place version number in the Help|About dialog. The latest version is shown below:

The 5.00.04 release of ProUpdater addressed the following issues:

1. The user interface appearance was enhanced by the addition of 'skins'.

2. The maximum number of subdirectories allowed in a single pair update operation has been increased to 10,000.

3. The maximum number of subdirectories allowed in a single pair update operation has been increased to 10,000.

4. The problem with new files in the target directory being in all capital letters was fixed.

5. The problem with using the root of a drive as the source directory in batch file mode was corrected.

6. The demo has been corrected to use the Current User version of My Documents for its source directory.

The 5.00.03 release of ProUpdater addressed the following issues:

1. When importing the settings from the previous version of WINUPD8R.INI, the settings for the target drive for the "Remove Files Older Than" function were transferred incorrectly.

2. Using any root directory as Dir 1 (such as A:\) caused the program to incorrectly identify existing subdirectories on Dir 2 as missing.

3. Truncation of exceptionally long directory names (> 80 characters in length)
